The Mechanics of the Lightning Strike
The act of slaying the coverer is a technical process. It is the training of the Buddhi {बुद्धि}. This is the faculty of sharp discernment. In our mental landscape, the mind is often stagnant. It is blocked by Vṛtra {वृत्र}. This is the force of inertia. It is the resistance that stops the movement of vital energy.
This energy is called the Apas {अपः} or the “Waters”. These are the flows of creativity and insight. When these waters are frozen, the mind feels dry. The energy stays trapped in the subconscious. We remain in a state of drought because we cannot reach our own depth. We experience this as a mountain that stands in our way.
The force that breaks this drought is Indra. He represents the Divine Mind. He is the power of a focused will. His tool is the Vajra {वज्र}. The Vajra is the principle of indestructible hardness. It is a focus that is so clear that it cannot be blunted. To awaken the Vajra is to practice Ekāgratā {एकाग्रता}. This is one-pointed concentration. It is the ability to hold a single truth until it pierces through the noise.
The ancient song says the serpent was struck and the mountains were pierced. This is how a spiritual breakthrough works. You do not wait for the resistance to fade away. You do not argue with the block. You strike the center of the doubt with a concentrated decision. This causes the liquefaction of inertia. The moment the sharp focus touches the frozen doubt, the state of the energy changes. What was a barrier becomes a rushing river of action.
This strike is not an act of violence. It is an act of extreme clarity. By aligning with Indra, you connect your small thoughts to the Cosmic Mind. The Vīryāṇi {वीर्याणि} are the deeds of clarity. These are the moments when your insight wins against your conditioning. This strike opens the Vakṣaṇā {वक्षणा}. These are the inner channels for the truth-consciousness.
The result is not just a new idea. It is the release of a hidden power. The water that was locked in the mountain begins to flow. It nourishes the dry parts of your life. This flow is the reward for the work of the strike.
It proves that the power was always inside you. It was just waiting for the right kind of focus to set it free.
